What to Expect

We know starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you get anxious about new environments. Here's everything you need to know so you can feel more comfortable and prepared.

Using Insurance

Make sure Integrated Family Therapy is in your network. See our Insurance page for more details and guidance.

Call to Set Up an Appointment

Give us a call or fill out the contact form to schedule your first session with your preferred therapist. If you're unsure which therapist to choose, no need to worry – we're here to guide you and help match you match therapist that best fits your needs.

What to Bring

For your first therapy appointment, it's helpful to bring the following:

  1. Photo ID – For verification purposes.
  2. Insurance Information – If you're using insurance for your sessions.
  3. Payment Method – If you need to pay a co-pay or fee.
  4. Any Relevant Medical or Mental Health History – This could include past diagnoses, medications, or previous treatment notes.
  5. A Notebook – Optional, but it may help if you want to jot down thoughts or key points during the session.
  6. List of Questions or Concerns – If there’s anything specific you want to discuss.

These items can help your therapist get a clear picture of your needs and make the session run smoothly.

Where to Park

We offer convenient, free parking right in front of our building, as well as in the public lot located just south of us. If you require any special accommodation, please let us know when scheduling your appointment.

How Long is the First Session?

Your first session will last about 60 minutes. This is a time for your therapist to get to know you and your goals for therapy.

What to Expect at the First Session

When you arrive, you'll be greeted by our friendly front desk staff. Simply let them know your name, and they’ll notify your therapist that you’ve arrived. While you wait, you’re welcome to relax in our comfortable and inviting lobby. Shortly, your therapist will come to meet you and guide you to the session. During the session, you’ll discuss what brought you to therapy and your goals. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.

After Your Session

Once your session is complete, you can pay at the front desk or online through our patient portal. We accept multiple payment methods. Signing out is quick and easy.

Setting Up Your Next Appointment

If you’re ready to schedule your next session, your therapist can help set it up before you leave, or you can call us later when you're ready.
